CyberSMART

Cyber Scenario Modeling & Reporting Tool

CyberSMART™ provides the cyber exercise community with a web-based tool for gathering data from numerous sources and for effectively using that data to plan complex functional and tabletop exercises. CyberSMART™ was created to simplify and organize the complex process of cyber exercise development. The CyberSMART™ software was developed by a team headed by SDL that included researchers from the Norwich University Applied Research Institutes (NUARI), Dartmouth College, and Delta Risk. This work was supported by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate, in partnership with the National Cyber Security Division.

  • Web-based tool guides exercise developers through a structured planning process
  • Exercise planning teams can:
    • Research, organize, create, and edit scenarios for cyber exercises
    • Develop a flow plan for each exercise planning conference
    • Work collaboratively behind a secure portal
    • Develop and validate scenario elements to ensure realism
  • Structure supports the natural decision cycle with “closed loop” exercises
